The Ranger series from Fischer is hands down the best line up of freeride skis for the third year in a row.  With 3 models in the line up the Ranger 108 is the second widest in the line up.  The first run that the team (my friends/co-workers) and I took on these skis was actually on a wide open steep groomer at Sugarbush -- we unanimously agree that these skis have some horsepower underneath the top sheet.  The carbon tip with slight taper slices through perfect corderoy, ice and loose granular all in the SAME turn without hesitation.

Flash forward to a sick day at Copper we put the Ranger 108's to use in the conditions they were designed for --- POWDER!  Waking up to 6 inches of fresh snow, we were stoked to see what they were capable of.  They bring a new defintion to the word 'float' for ski testers, the Ranger's Plane!  You'll ski pow faster than you ever have -- seriously.

How does the Ranger 108 perform as an all-mountain ski?

Ummmm, friggin AWESOME!  This is what sets the Ranger’s apart from other freeride skis, they ski everything well and they shred soft snow really well.  They like to carve, so skiers that still want to arc some turns in between zones at the resort can.  If you’ve skied these and think they chatter on harder snow, you probably need a ski lesson or a fresh tune.  But it’s a ski that absolutely destroys it in soft snow and variable conditions that fact that it can hold it’s own on a groomer is INSANE --- insanely awesome.

Ski Sizing Tip:  Those of us that normally ski 110mm waists close to 190cm prefered this ski in the 182cm.  With a better leg work out we could step it up to the 188cm.
