Day 1 on the Ripstick 88 a cold January day at Mt. Sunapee, the 2nd day we'd been on any of the new Ripstick series.  The 88 is an absolute boss in the 88 mm waist category, that has extremely stiff competition - pun fully intended.  The Ripstick 88 is the lightest of the bunch, the most nimble and the most responsive and fun at low speeds. A lot of skis aren't fun when the MPH's aren't high, the Ripstick 88 isn't one of them.  East Coast ice is a non issue for the Ripstick 88, it grips without feeling like it's going to be a sluggish roll over to the new edge.  As far as versatility goes, the Ripstick 88 skis well all over and for a variety of abilities because it's light and has a large sweet spot, it's a predictable feeling ski.  Ski more balanced and with more confidence.

TLDR: For skiers that are sick of having heavy skis, but don't want to sacrifice versatility and grip.

Recommended Binding: The Elan Ripstick 88's do NOT include a binding, the best skis never do.
