Burton Step On X Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings 2027
The Burton Step On X Re has always been the performance benchmark in Burton's Step On lineup. For this season, it takes another step forward.
The biggest update is Burton's new Heel Grabber technology. By adding a new dynamic tab on the heel cup, it creates an even tighter connection between boot and binding. It's a subtle change visually, but one you can absolutely feel on snow. The connection feels more immediate, more precise, and more responsive than previous generations.
Burton didn't stop there. The Step On X also receives a new, stiffer mounting disc that complements the carbon-blend baseplate and highback, creating the most direct and responsive Re:Flex binding Burton has ever produced. Every improvement points toward one goal: reducing the gap between rider input and board response.
Despite all of that added precision, the Step On X doesn't become harsh or unforgiving. It simply responds faster. Roll onto an edge, pressure the nose, or drive through a carve, and the binding reacts instantly without feeling twitchy or nervous.
If you're already sold on the convenience of Step On, the Step On X isn't really about convenience anymore. It's about performance. The quick entry is simply part of the package.
If you're deciding between the Step On Cartel X, Step On Genesis, and the Step On X, we'd think about how you ride. If you enjoy carving hard, riding fast, and appreciate a setup that feels incredibly connected beneath your feet, the X is absolutely worth the upgrade. If you're after an all-around ride for a mix of terrain and riding styles, the Step On Cartel X is a great choice. If comfort and suspension is the goal, go for the Step On Genesis.
Step On has reached the point where we're no longer asking whether it's as good as traditional straps. If convenience is a priority, it's simply a choice of which Step On binding matches your riding. For riders who prioritize response above all else, this is the one.
