The Zone Shell is the warmest Gore-Tex ski jacket that BD makes thanks to the 80 grams of Primaloft Silver insulation on the inside. The fit of this jacket is perfect for layering and the helmet compatible hood tightens up nicely around your brain bucket. Black Diamond has partnered with Cohaesive cord management to bring you the latest and greatest when it comes to dealing with the bungie cords that tighten your hood and lower hem. Cohaesive is a small plastic component that actually gets bonded to the fabric and it eliminates the need for bulky taping and stitches. The Cohaesive hardware is very easy to grip with gloves on, you you don’t need to worry about the next gale force wind. For those of you who don’t consider yourself a hood person, there is a stand up collar that will keep the wind off your neck even when the hood is down. If you have ever purchased a jacket with a waterproof zipper before, you know that they can give you some trouble over time. Black Diamond has installed a two way YKK Vislon zipper that glides up and down like butter and its very durable thanks to the oversized zipper teeth. This jacket has two way, oversized pit zips, tons of pockets, custom molded cuff tabs, and a stowable powder skirt.

Pockets

On the outside of this jacket there is a zippered chest pocket, two fully insulated hand warmer pockets, and one ski pass pocket on the left sleeve. On the inside there are two mesh drop pockets to hold gloves, skins, goggles or even a snack.
