The Atomic Hawx Ultra 95 is one of our more popular women's specific boots for low volume feet or skiers who want a more performance oriented fit. At a 95 flex this boot is great for a huge range of skiers from rapidly advancing beginners who are moving on from rentals to more advanced skiers who don't want to/don't need to be in the stiffest flexing boots out there. While this is one of the more precise fitting boots in this category the ability to bake the shell and mold the liner get the fit dialed in and the comfort level boosted. A responsive flex pattern and good lateral stiffness will make driving skis more effortless. As you progress or want get more adventurous the Ultra 95 certainly won't hold you back, this boot punches slightly above its weight class. The precise fit the Ultra 95 offers will help to keep your feet locked in so all you have to worry about is cruising your favorite trails. This isn't a boot for skiers trying to break world records, there isn't enough power for that in this boot. However, if you're a casual skier that hasn't been able to find a good balance of a precise fit and a forgiving flex the Ultra 95 checks a lot of the boxes.
Bootfitter's notes:
The low volume fit of this boot really should not scare you off, however, this is one of the more precise lower flexing, 98mm lasted boots. The toe box is a more pointed so some pinky toe discomfort could be noticed before the liner is molded to your feet. The heel pocket is snug and has a relatively dense feel throughout. Compared to the previous generations of the Ultra 95 the new liner is the most anatomically shaped out of the box, meaning Atomic did a great job building a liner that is built around the bones in your feet. Instep and top of the foot is on the generous side but not enough to throw off the locked in feel you might be after. Length is true to size and will feel even more appropriate after the boot is molded and broken in. If you're looking for a more plush feel go Ultra 85, if you're a more aggressive skier who prioritizes performance go Ultra 115.
