When the snow is bottomless, there is a go-to ski for your Heli-trip, the Atomic Bent Chetler. They feel alive in deep snow, bouncing out of each turn, like a slalom ski on hardpack. The ski isn’t symmetrical, but it’s tail is nearly the width of the tip and the mounting point is further forward, a less directional feeling ski than say a Ranger 115. Even though there is more tail then a directional ski, it’s easy to smear and slash the tails in any, I repeat, any type of snow. The Bent Chetler is 120 mm in the waist this isn’t a ski where your thinking about hardpack performance, it’ll get by. This is the ski for deep days, that you wake up early for regardless of how crazy apres got the day before, you’re in search of snow. Such a sick friggin ski.
