If technical doesn't come to mind when you think of Armada Jackets, it needs to.  Armada has majority share of the best skiers on the planet and they all ski Armada and wear Armada.  It doesn't take much scrolling on their Instagram feed to learn that the likes of Tanner Hall, Ian Provo and Mike Hornbeck need to be wearing the best gear on the planet for the conditions and terrain they ski.  The Armada Balfour Gore-Tex 3L Jacket is made of a burly Nylon that can take a beating, when you put it on you can tell it can take getting hit by a few tree branches.  The 3 layer Gore-Tex does exactly what you'd expect it to, keep water out and allow moisture to get out -- provided you're wearing a good base layer and have a good mid layer.

One thing that is annoying to every skier is crappy zipper pulls, the Balfour jacket has legit YKK zippers with sick pull tabs.  They are easy to grab and zip, a trait that doesn't exist in most 3L Gore Jackets.  

It goes without saying that the Armada Balfour Gore-Tex 3L Jacket is technical but it also looks good, not boring like most technical pieces.  Clean lines, classic colors.

Fit

The Balfour is a technical fit, Armada calls it 'Tech Fit'.  With an articulated cut  hiking, skinning and skiing is a more comfortable and less restrictive experience.  If you have Popeye sized forearms this will probably feel a little tight, with a technical fit comes a narrower fit from the elbow to the wrist.  

Style

This is a 3 Layer waterproof and breathable shell.

Performance Level

This is as good and technical as an Armada shell gets.  Armada does not cut corners and Gore-Tex won't let them.  (Fabrics have to meet gore standards in order to be Gore 'treated'.)  

Insulation

There is no insulation in this shell.

Pockets

Pockets you don't need no stinkin pockets.....

Venting

The Balfour has you feeling breezy with two pit zips.

Additional Awesomeness

Lycra Wrist Gaiters too many shells don't have them so we're really happy that the Armada Balfour does.  Because snow getting in your jacket sucks.
