For the upcoming season, the Black Pearl 84 replaces the Black Pearl 82 in the newly redesigned family. The 84 has all the things we loved about previous versions of the ski, but is more approachable, and a little more exciting. This is a ski designed for beginner to intermediate skiers who stick to the groomed terrain. It initiates a turn effortlessly and holds up well on more firm snow. This is the narrowest option out of the Black Pearl series, so it's going to be slightly less versatile than its wider counterparts. With the narrow width of the Black Pearl 84, it feels quick edge to edge and easy to balance on. While it's an approachable ski, it can handle some more aggressive skiing too. In a carve, the ski feels precise, has great grip, and can knife a turn, but it isn't demanding or difficult to initiate a turn. The construction of the Black Pearl 84 allows for easy skiing at all speeds, an ideal scenario for skiers who don’t want to be "go go go" all the time, or ones who want a ski they can progress on. Go with the Black Pearl 84 if you spend most of your time on groomed trails, if you’re looking for more versatility and a little more power go with the Black Pearl 88.
