The Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 105 is a great option for skiers with a more narrow foot shape, prefer a more precise fit, but don't need the stiffest boot out there. A 105 flex that punches above its weight class allows the Ultra XTD to transfer energy from you to your skis predictably, and smoothly. For a boot with a walk mode on it, for alpine touring, the XTD 105 doesn't feel sloppy or imprecise like some other walk mode options do. The walk mode is easy to use, making transition from uphill to downhill a breeze. For skiers that aren't into touring or going uphill the walk mode is a nice feature to have even for just cruising around the resort. 

If you're an intermediate to advanced skier who might dabble in some touring but still needs a solid resort boot, this is one of the best options out there. 

Bootfitter's Notes

The Ultra XTD 105 BOA is a more precise fitting boot. It is low-volume in the heel, mid-foot and forefoot. However is is more accommodating on top of the foot and around the cuff than some other LV options. The heat moldable liner and shell make customization a breeze and break-in discomfort minimal.
