The Prime XTD 130 fits the average foot well and is incredibly easy to modify as far as fit adjustments go. For more advanced skiers looking for one boot to take them from resort to backcountry, there aren't many options that ski better than this one.

SWISS ARMY BOOT.

The Prime XTD 130 has been around for a few seasons now and is one of the better skiing 'hybrid' alpine touring boots ever made. This year the boot gets upgraded with a BOA fit system, it doesn't make the boot ski any differently, it's just exciting. The XTD 130's ability to perform on the downhill is why it's become a favorite in the category. At a 130 flex, it's capable of driving just about any ski with ease and the lighter-weight construction (compared to a traditional downhill boot) will keep ascents from being overly taxing. Having tested these boots on a variety of skis from playful, lighter skis to burlier, hard-charging, metal laminate front-side skis, we were super impressed all around. There aren't many boots out there that do so much so well. If you've got average feet, are an above-average skier, and want a boot that can take you from steeps in the resort to tours in the backcountry, the Hawx Prime XTD 130 is a solid choice. 

Bootfitter's Notes

The Prime XTD 130 is true to size and width. Relative to other boots in this category, the toe box is more pointed so you may feel a bit more pressure on the inside of your big toe and outside of the pinky toe. Instep is generous for a 100mm lasted ski boot, especially with the addition of a BOA dial. Heel pocket is firm to help keep you locked in when you're pushing it. The ability to mold the shell and liner will help to get the fit dialed in quickly and get the boot to feel as appropriate as possible around your feet. Top of the foot, instep, and above the toes is more generous than some other boots in this category such as the Nordica Unlimited 130 or Tecnica Cochise 130.
