Worth the hype.

The Capita Defenders of Awesome has reached a point where it almost doesn't need an introduction.

It's one of the most recognizable snowboards ever made, has won more awards than just about anything else on the market, and seems to have developed a following that borders on obsession.

The surprising part isn't that it's popular. It's that after all these years, it still deserves to be.

Like many true twins, the D.O.A. is often labeled as a freestyle board. Spend a day riding one, though, and that description feels incomplete. Yes, it'll happily spend all afternoon in the terrain park, but that's only scratching the surface.

The D.O.A. shines because it makes virtually every resort lap more enjoyable. It carves with far more confidence than many riders expect, has enough snap to make every side hit worth taking, and feels light and energetic without becoming nervous when speeds pick up. Even if you rarely ride switch, don't write it off because of the shape. We'd happily recommend the D.O.A. to plenty of riders looking for one snowboard to ride every day.

Capita's construction is a big part of that formula. The P2 Superlight Core keeps weight low without sacrificing durability, while Carbon Boosters add the extra response that gives the board its unmistakable pop. The result is a board that feels lively underfoot without ever demanding perfect technique.

There are plenty of snowboards that do one thing exceptionally well. The D.O.A. has earned its reputation by doing almost everything exceptionally well.

*How do you choose between the D.O.A. and the Super D.O.A.?

It really comes down to what you're looking for. The biggest difference between the two is weight. The Super D.O.A. feels noticeably lighter underfoot, while the standard D.O.A. has a slightly more planted, damp feel that many riders actually prefer for everyday riding.

If this is going to be your one board for everything, we'd lean toward the D.O.A. It strikes a better balance between performance, durability, and price while delivering the ride that's made it one of the most popular snowboards ever built.

If you're after a lighter, more premium version of that same personality, the Super D.O.A. makes sense.

If your goal is simply to feel lighter on your feet weaving through trees and riding natural terrain, we'd actually point you toward the Aeronaut instead. It isn't dramatically lighter than the D.O.A., but the directional shape and slight setback make it noticeably more nimble in those situations.

Who is this for? Riders who want one premium snowboard that's just as fun carving groomers as hitting side hits and the occasional park lap.
Who is this not for? Riders looking for a directional freeride board focused on deep snow and high-speed charging.
