If you've read anything in the last five years reviewing the best women's snowboards, you're likely very used to seeing the Yes Hel Yes at the top of the list. The reason? It truly is an awesome, hard-charging beast of a board that rips through choppy snow, knows no speed limit on groomers, and fully lives up to its reputation as one of the best. Yes talks a lot about the "Underbite" that they build their boards with, all that really means is that certain points underneath the binding on the board are designed to be a little bit narrower. (different than Magnetraction from Lib Tech/Gnu/Roxa and Vario Sidecut from Never Summer but a similar idea). All you really need to know is that it allows the board to grip on hardpack much better and feel a lot more lively and poppy coming out of turns without the board itself being any stiffer or heavier. This will let expert riders open up and rip and speeds faster than ever, but if you're more of an intermediate the board's still going to be fun and will not make you work too hard. Tech aside, the Hel Yes remains the standard for riders who want a dope snowboard that isn't watered down at all from a similar board in the men's category.
