The Volkl Secret 88 is a new ski this season but just in name. It replaced the Volkl Kenja 88. This is an 88mm-waisted ski that is great at what it was built for -- crushing groomers. It initiates a turn well, offers unreal grip, and doesn't have a speed limit. Stable, powerful, confidence-inspiring.

The Secret 88 is a machine for groomers and hard-pack. It's powerful, strong, and limitless -- even for expert skiers.
The Volkl Secret 88 replaces the insanely popular Volkl Kenja 88. While the name is new, the ski construction remains unchanged from the 23/24 Volkl Kenja 88. It's still a groomer-crushing machine with the "Volkl" feel that "Volkl" fans have come to know and love. The Secret 88 is powerful, stable, and confidence-inspiring regardless of how hard or aggressively you're pushing the ski. For a ski this powerful, turn initiation isn't difficult or demanding for more proficient skiers but less experienced skiers may have a harder time as they progress into stronger skiers. Experts will love the stability and predictability the Secret 88 offers. The Secret has good energy but is on the quieter side, meaning it offers a smooth ride; however, some skiers may have a preference for skis that are a little more energetic and quick whereas the Secret 88 is quiet and composed. Off trail, or in softer deep snow, you can tell that home for the Secret 88 is on a groomer, but more advanced skiers won't have a ton of trouble getting through some tighter terrain if you venture into trees or chopped-up. The Secret is one of the more powerful, precise skis in this category. So if you're a skier who loves groomers the Secret 88 should be on your list.
Who is this ski for? Strong skiers who want a powerful ski for crushing groomers and hard-pack.
Who isn't this ski for? Skiers who prefer nimble, playful skis or skiers who spend a ton of time off-trail or in deeper snow.
If groomers are your jam, the Secret 88 should probably be your ski. Yes, the Secret 88 does prefer to be skied a little bit harder than some of its competitors. However, if you're a stronger more aggressive skier you'll love how composed the Secret feels.
