Volkl did a great job building a lighter, more playful, soft snow ski while maintaining a bit of that "Volkl" feel. The Volkl Blaze is great in soft snow but it does way more than just push around fluff, these skis shred. They're nimble but not nervous, quick but not twitchy, and they feel smooth over firm snow for a ski in this weight class. For someone building a lighter weight touring set-up or looking for a more playful ski for resort laps, these are an awesome option. They can handle the tightest trees and they're confident and quick on the steepest headwalls. Because these are lighter, more nimble skis they lack a damp or powerful feel, but that's not what they were built for. These skis thrive in softer snow, tight trees, bump runs and more casual groomer skiing. Oh, and they're an awesome option for touring.
