Travis Rice's binding of choice, boom. That's it.
I feel like if I start off by stating that this is the binding that Travis Rice straps into every time he rides, a lot of riders are gonna have a pretty solid idea of how it's gonna perform. Think of how Travis Rides, he obviously shreds as hard as anyone who's ever slid sideways down a mountain, but the personality of his riding demands versatility. Two huge factors are that it needs to be able to handle huge lines and high speeds, but also it needs to be forgiving enough for the more playful riding he does. It's no surprise that one of the more well-rounded bindings we've tested is based on this criteria. Union absolutely nailed the balance of stiff and playful here. A mid-stiff, lightweight highback is reinforced with carbon increases responsiveness without adding too much weight. A nylon baseplate that's designed to be less rigid than the highback adds forgiveness at low speeds and is designed to withstand high impacts. The Falcor can handle the most aggressive riding confidently. Need proof? I thought I mentioned this is the binding Travis uses. It's also relatively undemanding in the most technical situations or a freestyle environment. A beginner may find it lacks the forgiveness they need, but any more seasoned rider from progressing intermediate to pro will have no problem getting the binding to comply. Get this binding if you want something that's top-tier quality, sweet looking, and manages to be responsive and playful but doesn't veer far in either direction.
We test products year round in order to curate the best gear for you.
Get the Falcor if you're an aggressive rider but don't want to limit yourself with an overly stiff binding. If we trust anyone to nail the formula between playful and responsive, it's Travis.
