The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant
FREEDOOMMMMMMM!!! (WILLIAM WALLACE - BRAVEHEART VOICE)
Pant Style: Insulated Pant // Material: DryVent 10K, 10K // Ventilation: Inner Thigh Vents
This is the most popular ski pant in New England for skiers that aren't looking for anything special in a ski pant. That’s by no means putting The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant down, it's just a pant that has the essentials without all the bells or whistles. With 60g of insulation throughout the pant you'll be plenty warm on those blustery cold January days, especially paired up with a base layer. The relaxed cut fits most people well and the black color goes with any jacket. What you can expect with the Insulated Freedom Pant is good pocket placement, durable construction and plenty of tech to keep the weekend resort skier happy and comfortable.

Is the North Face Freedom Pant waterproof?
Yup, the North Face’s waterproof membrane is called HyVent and will repel moisture in about moderate rain and moderate to heavy snow.
I usually ski with a baselayer on under my ski pants, what size should I select to make sure I have enough room to layer underneath?
The Freedom Pants were designed with layering in mind and have an athletic fit. This means that they offer plenty of space for you to never feel constricted even with a layer underneath. There is some synthetic insulation in the pant, which will keep you pretty warm on its own, so you shouldn’t need too much more than a next-to-skin base layer.
You said this is a pant that doesn’t have too many bells & whistles. What are some of the things I might be missing out on that I can find in other ski pants?
Other pants may come with a higher level of waterproofing, or feature a more tailored fit. Some pants will have additional features like an adjustable powder skirt to attach to your jacket. Just like with your skis, boots, or any other part of your gear, you need the stuff that is best tailored to your style in order to have the best time. If you’re hitting the slopes less than 10-12 times per season and spending a lot of time on-trail, these pants are an awesome option because they get the job done 100% of the time without the heavy price tag.
