The Zero Tour Scout W is arguably the best women's specific alpine touring boots. It's lightweight, smooth, and effortless on the uphill side of things while offering enough downhill performance to steer skis predictably, regardless of your skiing ability. The Tecnica Zero G Tour Scout is one of the most efficient touring boots that still drives skis well.
The Tecnica Zero G Tour Scout is a women's specific boot for alpine touring. This boot does live on the more touring-oriented end of the spectrum, making it a great option for skiers who are spending the majority of the ski season outside of the resort or doing touring laps at the resort. This is a lighter-weight boot with an awesome walk function for easy ascents and a natural stride. The Tour Scout is a stated 115 flex so it is capable of driving more stout skis relatively well, but it is best paired up with a lighter-weight ski that is optimized for touring. A 115 flex touring boot is less powerful than a 115 flex downhill boot, however, the Zero G Tour Scout offers a surprising amount of downhill performance considering how light and efficient it is on touring days. This is a great option for a wide range of skier types as well, more proficient experts will feel that the Tour Scout is solid enough to be skied relatively hard while less experienced skiers should not let the 115 flex index scare them away. If you're looking for a touring boot that is still capable on the way downhill this is one of the best options out there.
The Zero G Tour Scout is a mid-volume fit. The thin liner and thin shell give this boot a more generous fit than you may expect, but not enough to warrant sizing down. The instep will feel a bit snug but this will feel more appropriate once the shell and liner are molded to your feet. The toe box is slightly pointed but will open up once the liner is molded to your feet. Considering this is an alpine touring boot, the heel is snug enough to keep your planted inside the boot, but this liner won't feel as snug as a downhill boot.
This is one of our favorite women's specific alpine touring boots. It isn't built for resort skiing all day, everyday, but it has enough downhill performance to keep you confident on the way downhill on touring trips. The walk mode is smooth, intuitive, and natural. Awesome boot.
