A lightweight boot that actually packs a decent punch on descents.
The new Zero G Peak Carbon, from Tecnica, is really an engineering marvel. The boot weighs in at 990g, at 26.5, and is incredibly efficient for touring with 75 degrees in range of motion. Tecnica has done an awesome job building a boot that performs and fits well for a sub 1000g ski boot. Even with this ultra-lightweight construction, the Zero G Peak Carbon can still steer a lightweight ski, keeping you confident on tricky descents. The carbon cuff is responsive and the overlapping shell allows energy to be sent to your skis efficiently. This is not a boot built to drive anything aside from lightweight touring skis, it's a specialized boot built for skiers who care about a lightweight Alpine Touring setup.
The Zero G Peak Carbon fits exactly the way an ultra-lightweight ski boot should. This does not fit the same way a downhill boot does; the liner and shell are thin so it doesn't offer the same precision as an alpine boot. Length is true to size. Width is on the more generous side for a 99mm last, in part because of how thin the shell and liner are. Instep pressure is light partly because of the lack of material to allow for ROM, but snug enough to keep you secure and stable in the boot. The ankle and heel are snug but not like a downhill boot.

The Zero G Peak is one of the most impressive boots on the market. It is under 1000g grams but it's got some of the performance DNA you'd usually only find in downhill boots. Combine those two characteristics and you get a boot that is wildly efficient uphill while also being able to control skis on the way down. BOOM.
