The Stockli Montero is one of the best carving skis on the hill. It's precise on edge, incredibly powerful, and stable at higher speeds. While it's not a ski that can tackle a huge variety of terrain, once you ski these on a groomer you won't be worried about performance anywhere else -- it's one of the best tools for carving perfect turns. An 80mm waist width and stiffer construction provide unrivaled grip and precision to keep you feeling confident no matter how hard you're pushing the ski or how far you lean the skis over into the turn. A construction update to the core and tail shape makes the newest version of the Montero AX a touch easier to balance on and easier to dump speed or slash. These changes haven't taken away from any of the high-performance traits the Montero AX is known for, it just makes the skis a bit easier at lower speeds, on lower angle terrain, and allows for easier turn initiation. If you're looking for a ski that is built for crushing groomers and making awesome turns, the Montero AX should be at the top of your list.
Who is this ski for? Intermediate to advanced skiers who love to carve turns.
Who isn't this ski for? Skiers who spend time off trail or like playful skis. The Montero struggles in deeper snow and is less maneuverable than a true all-mountain ski.
