The Shift Pro 130 is a resort oriented boot that can still handle some touring days. The walk mode provides a smooth and efficient stride on the way up and the downhill performance is damn close to a traditional alpine boot. The 130 flex is great for advanced skiers or skiers who are out there attacking terrain more aggressively. A mid-volume fit combined with a liner that has a more supple feel will be sure to keep your feet happy regardless of how long you want to ski.

One of the best performing and best fitting AT boots for advanced skiers with average feet.
The Salomon Shift Pro 130 is an alpine touring boot that is more resort oriented and built for more advanced skiers that have mid-volume feet. A 130 flex boot with a liner that is on the more comfortable side of the spectrum for higher flexing boots makes for an awesome combination. This boot can bend any ski out there with awesome efficiency and it has an incredibly responsive feel; great for skiers who want to get the most out of their skis. A lot of boots with a hike/walk feature sacrifice downhill performance, but the Shift 130 doesn't; it behaves more like a traditional downhill boot so it won't ever feel like the boot is holding you back from skiing as hard as you want. On the uphill side of things, the easy-to-use switch on the back releases the upper cuff from the lower shell to give you ample range of motion on touring days or even just cruising around the resort or lodge after your ski day. This isn't the lightest alpine touring boot out there by any means, but it makes up for the extra weight by giving you awesome power transfer, rebound, and responsiveness when it's time to point your skis downhill. If you spend the majority of your time in the resort but you want the option to go touring or you're putting together a 50/50 set-up for resort days and touring days, this is one of our favorite options. Powerful enough to bend skis predictably, efficient enough to tour easily, and a mid-volume fit that fits a ton of different foot shapes.
Right out of the box, you'll notice this boot feels slightly short, not nearly enough to warrant sizing up and it will feel more appropriate in length after the toe box is broken in and the heel pocket opens up to receive your ankle and heel more effectively. When the boot is new, you may notice a band of pressure on the back and side of the lower part of your heel; this will go away once the boot is molded to your feet. The liner, even for a 130 flex, is on the more plush side but it does a great job grabbing your foot and keeping you locked in. Instep and width are on the generous side for a mid-volume boot. Bonus points for also being one of the easier 130 flex ski boots to put on and take off. The Shift Pro 130 is also an incredibly easy boot to modify if you feel pressure points even after the liner mold or shell bake.

This is a high performance alpine touring boot that can handle any resort day you throw at it while also being more than capable on ascents during a touring day. It has a more comfortable liner than most 130 flex ski boots and it's easy to put on. It's got enough power for even the most aggressive skiers that end up in this boot. Sick.
