The Shift Pro 120 offers a mid-volume fit and more than enough performance for the average to above avergage skier. While this is a more comfortable AT boot, it is powerful enough to drive a resort ski easily and it's fluid and efficient enough on the way up to keep touring days a breeze. This is one of our favorite resort oriented, touring capable, boots on the market. Salomon boots continue to knock our socks off.

Need a boot that's good for downhill skiing and uphill touring days? This is one of the best.
The Salomon Shift Pro 120 is a great alpine touring option for a skier who still spends a large portion of the season skiing at the resort but wants the option to do some backcountry adventuring. The 120 flex has a smooth and confidence-inspiring feel but it isn't a bear to get in and out of. This boot can steer just about any ski out there with ease and is sure to elevate your performance level without sacrificing comfort or being so stiff that the boot isn't forgiving for less experienced skiers. The walk/hike function is intuitive and smooth allowing the touring to be more efficient or if you just want to be more comfortable cruising around the lodge at après. The Shift Pro 120 is a solid boot on the downhill side of things while being light enough and smooth enough during the occasional tour to keep you happy. Not all boots are great at both the uphill and downhill aspect of alpine touring; the Shift Pro 120 is.
Instep and width are on the generous side for a mid-volume boot while length feels slightly short, not enough to size up. Despite the 100mm last, this is a great option for wider feet; there's more room in here than a Tecnica Cochise or an Atomic Hawx Prime XTD 120. Plus the liner is pretty much the most comfortable in the game.
We test products year round in order to curate the best gear for you.
The Shift Pro 120 has a fit that works for a lot of different foot shapes and it has a performance band that works for a huge range of skiers. It can handle anything you throw at it in the resort while also being capable in the backcountry.
