A comfortable mid-volume boot that fits a lot of feet and works for a wide range of abilities.
The new Supra boots, from Salomon, are awesome. The Supra 95 is a mid-volume boot built for beginners making the jump from rentals all the way up to more advanced skiers who don't need stiff boots and like comfort. At a 95 flex, the Supra can push around most recreational skis and is strong enough to keep your skiing as efficient as possible. If you're coming from rental boots, making the jump to a real boot is a game changer. Your legs will do less work, you'll be able to control the skis more easily, and you can't argue that these boots look great too. You've gotta look like a good skier to be a good skier, right? The Supra 95 is easy to put on, on the warmer end of the spectrum (for ski boots), and will be a major upgrade over rentals, or older retail boots. If you're a more experienced skier who likes a forgiving boot the Supra 95 can work for you as well. It's not the most powerful boot out there but it's responsive enough and fits well, so they won't hold you back on the hill. If you are looking for a more powerful and responsive option, check out the Salomon S/Pro Supra 105.
The Supra 95 is a more comfort oriented mid volume boot. The liner is plush but still offers an even fit for a wide range of foot shapes. The instep on the boot is on the more generous side but the BOA allows the fit to be dialed in to your liking. Around the back of the heel, you may notice a pinch on the lower portion of your heel when the boot is brand new, this does go away and will feel more appropriate once the boot is molded to your feet. Length is true to size, however, the toe box may feel crowded vertically when the boot is new, this will break in after a couple of ski days. If you have average, to slightly wider feet the Supra should be an awesome fit. The liner and shell are both heat moldable as well, to get as close to a perfect fit as possible.
If you're a beginner to intermediate skier or an expert skier that doesn't need a stiff boot, the Supra 95 could be your new boot. It's just stiff to keep your skiing efficient as you cruise around the resort and it's comfortable enough to keep your feet happy all day.
