The QST is a weapon in softer snow and off trail. It pivots on a dime, is easy to balance on, and provides good energy. They're not built for piping turns on a groomer but provide enough grip to keep you confident if conditions off-trail are sketchy or it hasn't snowed in a while. It can cruise a groomer no problem but man are these things awesome in the trees, bumps, and on the side of the trail.

The QST is a more playful and maneuverable ski that can hang on a groomer but is awesome in off trail scenarios.
The Salomon QST 92 is an all-mountain ski that is nimble, playful, and highly maneuverable. A large portion of skis on the market that are around 90mm underfoot aren't the easiest skis to take off trail and they don't handle soft snow super well; the QST 92 does both of those things effortlessly. We've skied these skis on both the East and West Coast through a variety of terrain/conditions and can easily tell you that the QST does prefer softer, more forgiving snow. That doesn't mean they're nervous or out of place on firm terrain, they're just more impressive when the snow is nicer. On groomers, the QST can hold it's own but it'd prefer to be bouncing through the trees, bumps or more technical terrain; it's good on groomers but great everywhere else. When you do get the QST's in their happy place they come to life. Agile, quick edge to edge, and they provide a ton of energy to keep your ski day exciting. Regardless of what coast you typically ski on the QST will work as long as you use them for the intended use; getting adventurous and exploring the whole mountain. This could also be an awesome option for skiers putting an Alpine Touring set-up together that is also resort capable.

If you're looking for a quick, nimble, playful ski that is easy to balance on and a beast in the trees or bumps this is your ski. It has enough grip for more firm snow or groomer days but the QST is built for tree runs, bumps runs, and the side of the trail. Awesome ski when it's used appropriately.
