A high-volume boot with a nice level of performance.
The Nordica SportMachine 120 is a high-volume boot that has a performance level that outshines some other wider-fitting boots out there. This boot makes sense for a range of skiers, intermediate up to expert, with wider feet who want a boot that feels responsive, and powerful but not uncomfortable. The 120 flex is stiff enough to send energy and power to the ski efficiently and predictably allowing you to point the skis where you want them with ease. For a higher volume boot, the SportMachine 120 skis really, really well. Even though this boot has a good performance level, the comfort is there too, keeping skiers with wider feet happy throughout the day.
The SportMachine has a relatively snug feel (compared to other high-volume boots) in the heel but it is not aggressive. The width and instep feel average for a higher-volume boot. The length feels generous but not enough to warrant sizing down. The liner is heat moldable as well which will help to take most small pressure points out of the boot before you go skiing in them. If you're looking for a more precise fit, check out the more narrow SpeedMachine 120. If you're looking for a more generous fit, check out The Cruise 120, also from Nordica.
The SportMachine 120 is a high volume boot for intermediate skiers with wider feet or more advanced skiers who don't need the stiffest boots or an over bearing fit. It drives skis well, is warm, and it's easy to put on.
