The Nordica Sportmahcine is an awesome boot for good skiers who have wider feet. It has a plush liner but isn't sloppy -- allowing you to feel connected to the ski without feeling like your feet are being crushed. The 105 flex is strong enough to drive skis easily but isn't so stiff that the boots are unforgiving for less experienced skiers.

A boot built for wider feet and good skiers. It's comfort-oriented without forgetting about performance needs.
The Nordica Sportmachine 105 is a high-volume boot with solid performance. Most higher volume boots put performance on the back-burner, not the Sportmachine 105. A smooth and powerful flex pattern allows the boot to push more stout skis with ease and predictability. If you're a stronger skier with wider feet and you don't want to cram into a low-volume fit a boot like the Sportmachine is what you should be looking for. It shares a lot of DNA with the more narrow Nordica Speedmachine series which has been an immensely popular boot for quite some time. Compared to the Speedmachine 105, the Sportmachine has nearly the same level of performance but in a more comfort-oriented package for wider foot shapes. The liner is more plush, the cuff is more forgiving, and the boot is easier to put on. For a boot with so many comfort characteristics, we're impressed with how well it transfers energy from skier to ski without feeling like you're making a performance sacrifice.
The Sportmachine 105 is a high-volume boot, built for wider feet. The heel is snug but has a more plush feeling foam around the Achilles and ankle bones. The width feels average for a high-volume fit. Length is on the generous side, but not enough to size down. Instep and top of the foot are average for a higher volume fit.
The Sportmachine 105 is a high-volume boot that still has solid performance. It fits wider feet with ease while still having a low profile. The performance it offers is more than enough for recreational skiers to drive skis smoothly and predictably.
