Once you have a solid touring set up the possibilities are unlimited (not to be too corny).

GET UP TO GET DOWN.

The new Unlimited series from Nordica is the answer for skiers that want something lightweight but still looking to maintain some characteristics of a resort-capable ski. The Nordica Santa 88 Unlimited is a good ski. It's light, it pivots on a dime, and it's easy to flick around in tighter terrain or on steep, technical descents. At 88mm underfoot it's quick and effortless edge to edge, it has enough bite to keep you confident on firm snow, and it's just versatile enough to handle a little variation in snow conditions. While this ski shares the same mold as the regular Santa Ana, it is a more lively and energetic ski since the Unlimited uses carbon fiber as opposed to metal. The Santa Ana 88 Unlimited is more touring focused but it can hold its own in the resort, it's just more playful, forgiving, and less powerful feeling. Nordica has done an awesome job maintaining the Santa Ana DNA but in a more touring-friendly package.

Who's this ski for? Skiers looking for a resort/touring hybrid set up and prioritize having a lightweight setup that maintains downhill capability. It will also work for anyone who wants an easygoing ski.

Who isn't this ski for? Hard chargers. Skiers who want a ski that's just made to dominate the resort.

A great option if you're looking for a hybrid touring ski that is more than capable of shredding in the resort. The Unlimited 88 has a lower speed limit than the regular Santa Ana 88, but it's much more playful and light enough for efficient alpine touring. Also, at 88mm it isn't just made for soft snow like a lot of touring options.
