Mammut Barryvox S Avalanche Beacon

The Barryvox S is packed with all the necessary features that will allow both novices and professionals to quickly find buried skiers or riders in the event of an avalanche. This beacon has a 70m wide search strip in digital mode and up to a 100m wide search strip in analog mode. Navigation is simple, fast, and gives the user a direct search path. An easy to use beacon is essential in avalanche situations as they help to decrease search time and in turn, save more lives. The device has an easy to read/understand interface and is very simple for a user to operate effectively. The buttons can be operated with gloves on and it has audible search queues that can help keep your eyes on the snow instead of your device.

Multiple burials are much easier to handle with a marking function. When you find your first victim, simply mark that location to silence the buried signal and continue on to your next victim. The Barryvox has a very smart auto revert function that will switch the beacon from search to send if the rescuer doesn’t move for 4 minutes. The beacon assumes a second avalanche and makes sure the rescuer doesn’t get stuck in search mode. It also has a reverse direction function so you can avoid 180 degree search errors.
