The Ranger 90 handles groomers, softer snow and some tree skiing really well without being difficult to ski no matter your ability level. It offers good grip on icier ski days and for a ski that is easy at low speeds, it holds up well when you're pushing them harder. It does have a more playful feel, and is more maneuverable than some other frontside-oriented skis in the category, but that's what makes them awesome when you go into the bumps or trees.

The Ranger 90 is great on groomers while also being effortless in the trees.
The Fischer Ranger is where we steer skiers looking for an all-mountain ski built for groomers and hard snow without going too demanding and stiff. This ski wants to turn, so it's great for newer skiers looking to improve, or more advanced skiers who don't want to have to work that hard. It's an easily accessible and capable ski for all skill levels, feels at home on groomers, and can perform off-trail. Progressing skiers will enjoy how easy this ski is to balance on and experts will like how predictable and agile this ski feels underfoot. On trail, the Ranger 90 feels confident, energetic and handles varying snow conditions very well. The metal in this ski provides enough suspension underfoot to keep the ski quiet at speed and locked in on hard snow. The metal layout doesn't span the length of the ski, so it's lighter and more nimble in the tip and tail. This makes it less powerful and more maneuverable than other skis in this category. The pros are that it's easier to ski, pivots quicker, and performs better off-trail while the cons are that it's not going to feel as strong as some other 90mm skis at speed and on firm snow. What makes the Ranger 90 unique is that it's a forgiving ski that feels just strong enough underfoot that you're never going to have to worry about it feeling unreliable.
Who is this ski for? Skiers who spend most of their time on trail but like a ski that is easily maneuverable if you do go off trail, find some softer snow, or like to ski in bumps. Skiers who prefer a more forgiving and playful ski but need grip and groomer performance.
Who isn't this ski for? Skiers looking for a powerful groomer ski and nothing else. Skiers who don't like a ski that's playful and light in the shovels.
If you end up spending the majority of your time on groomers but like a ski that won't be a hindrance to skiing bumps or trees the Ranger 90 is great. It's got that playful feel that we've come to love from the Ranger series but can still crush a groomer.
