It floats and pivots like a 108mm ski should while still offering good performance on hardpack.

STICK IT TO THE MAN.

The Elan Ripstick 108 is the widest option in the newly constructed family. For skis above the 105mm waist width, it is one of the most exciting and all-mountain-capable skis. If the snow is deep, there aren't many skis that will feel better than this one. It's wide enough to float on the deepest of days, and its rocker profile and low-swing weight make it quick to pivot and easy to balance on as you chip your way through technical terrain. Its effortless feel in tight terrain will elevate any skier's performance on trickier descents. The Ripstick 108 excels when the conditions are great, but its ability in average conditions is what puts it at the top of its category. For a ski this wide, it holds up well on your standard groomer and can handle higher speeds decently. It grips well and has enough confidence to lay down some carves on more firm snow. It's not the most powerful ski, so you may be able to find a speed limit if you're really bombing down a groomer. Off-trail, the ski is plenty powerful for hard-charging and eats up chatter very quietly. A lot of skis in this category can feel one-dimensional; awesome when the snow is deep and ropes are dropped but lack when conditions don't line up, the Ripstick is not one of those skis.

Who's this ski for? Skiers who want a ski that thrives in deep snow but holds up well everywhere else.

Who isn't this ski for? Skiers who never go off trail.

Technology update:

Updated shape in the tip and tail of the ski (less easily knocked around in tough snow and a stronger feel in a turn.) "Carbon Deck Technology" introduces carbon fiber tubes close to the edge to improve strength. Elan also added "flax" in the tip.

The Ripstick 108 is a soft snow ski that carries many of the characteristics of an all-mountain ski. It thrives in soft snow but holds up surprisingly well elsewhere. This ski is built for the skier who doesn't want their powder ski to be limited to powder days.
