A magic wand for tearing up the whole mountain.

NOW YOU SEE ME... NOW YOU DON'T.

The Alekasam is the newest member of the Burton Family Tree line and is easily one of the most exciting new boards for the 2024/2025 winter. It's designed in collaboration with snowsports legend Selema Masekela who says the board is inspired by one of his surfboards. Its surf-inspired shape is built for riders with a more playful approach to the mountain. Riders who like to look at every run like it's a perfect, crispy, head-high wave. The medium flex board with a set-back stance is loaded with pop and loves turning. It maintains an effortless feel that makes you want to lace together quick, smooth turns or lay down a massive slash on the side of the trail. In tighter terrain, it takes nothing to turn and is easy to steer. It's not a powder board, but in soft snow, the bigger, more rockered nose gives the board a good amount of float. It holds up great on those sleeper pow days when the trees start to fill in. The Alekesam feels at home in just about any type of terrain or conditions, but it's designed for a more playful riding style. A medium flex gives it a quick, snappy feel underfoot. Because of its more forgiving feel, this isn't a board that's built for hard-charging. Stiffer options will hold up better at high speeds and hold stronger on hard snow. The Alekesam is built for more playful, technical riders who want a tool that's easy to control at lower speeds.

Who's this board for? Intermediate to advanced riders who like to surf around the entire mountain, dipping through the trees when the snows good and slashing every berm and knoll they come across.

Who isn't this board for? Aggressive riders who want the most stable board. Riders that prefer a twin shape.

The Test Crew

We test products year round in order to curate the best gear for you.

The Alekesam's lightweight feel and medium flex pattern give it a playful feel that any all-mountain rider can appreciate. A directional shape makes it just as fun for tree runs and soft snow as it is for linking together some quick carves down the frontside of the mountain. A poppy feel makes it a great option for riders who like to catch air and have a more creative approach to the mountain. This board has it all.
