Having ski boots that are able to maintain command of your skis when the terrain gets rugged or variable isn’t something all alpine touring boots can do, the Hawx Ultra XTD 120 can.  A boot that can do it all has new meaning; it’s not just about being able to do ski hardpack and shred bumps it’s about being able to ascend too – in order to do that you need range of motion, a grippy sole while being light weight.  The Ultra XTD 120 is a more precise fit than other boots of equal performance in the same Alpine Touring downhill capable category like the Cochise 120 for instance – by precise we mean narrower.  Little to no sacrifice in responsiveness will please all resort skiers, while it’s lack of weight and smooth hike function will please uphill travelers.

What is the big difference between the Ultra XTD 130 and Ultra XTD 120?

1. The XTD 130 includes the Platinum Liner has 3 moldable zones the third being the tongue. The XTD 120 included the Gold Liner no moldable tongue – not a big deal.
2. The cuff of the XTD 130 is made of Grilamid, the cuff of the XTD 120 is Polyurethane – this is why the XTD 120 weighs slightly more.

How's the Fit: It's sister mold is the Ultra, if that fits there is no reason the Ultra XTD would not.  More precise than the Cochise 120 without as much pressure on the instep.
