To be fair, most anoraks are solid AND warm like a cast iron. Why? They are naturally warmer and more protective because you are losing that full zipper up the front and with that, lowering your chance of water and wind sneaking through to your core. Finish that construction off with Polyfill insulation and DWR coating, and you;ve got yourself the Iron Lady of coats.
