The Beta AR is Gore-Tex Pro in its simplest form. Gore-Tex Pro is designed to keep you dry even in an absolute down pour and thanks to the reinforced shoulders and forearms, durability is first rate. The Beta AR is light too, coming in at 13.5 ounces. This coat has a stand up collar to keep the elements off the back of your neck when you get totally zipped up. You won’t find any unnecessary pockets or powder skirt in this shell, there are two large outside pockets and a one small inside pocket that help keep weight down. You can definitely ski in this shell, but since it is so light, you won’t mind taking it hiking, climbing, camping, or biking too.
