The Atomic Shift 13 is the best option for skiers who want to make as few sacrifices as possible when putting together an alpine touring set-up. The best thing about the Shift binding is how great it is on the downhill side of things without hampering too much efficiency on the way uphill. Downhill performance, whether it's in the resort or the backcountry, is matched pretty evenly with a traditional alpine ski binding. It sends power and input from you to the skis really well and provides some suspension to mute out some negative feedback (vibration) you might experience over more firm terrain nearly as well as a normal downhill binding.
