Nordica Unlimited 120 DYN Ski Boots 2025

The Unlimited 120 works for progressing intermediate skiers and more experienced skiers with average feet. It's smooth and efficient on the uphill side of things while offering enough power and responsiveness on the way down to allow you to drive skis effectively. We won't miss the Nordica Strider this boot replaced.

ON THE LONG WAY DOWN.

The Nordica Unlimited 120 replaced the Nordica Strider 120 this season and wow is the Unlimited a much better boot all around. The Strider was clunky at times, didn't have great range of motion when touring, and sometimes it felt like it lacked in power if you were on burlier skis. Nordica fixed all of that and knocked it out of the park. The Unlimited 120 has a smooth, responsive feel when you're steering skis, and compared to the Strider it has a more progressive flex. Basically, you feel more like you have a throttle for power going to the skis, which we like. The 120 flex works for a wide range of skiers and skier abilities. It's forgiving enough for less experienced or lighter-weight skiers while offering enough stiffness for more experienced skiers to control skis if they don't need or want to be in the stiffest boots out there. The walk mode is external on the spine, so the range of motion is fluid and allows for a natural stride uphill. The Unlimited 120 is a great boot for skiers who spend time both in the resort and in the backcountry.

Bootfitter's Notes

The Nordica Unlimited 120 shares a lot of the fit characteristics of the Nordica SpeedMachine 120; if that boot fits your foot the chances of the Unlimited 120 fitting are really high. The Unlimited 120 is snug in the heel, true to a mid-volume fit in width, and a tad generous in length. The top of the foot and instep are true to a mid-volume fit but leaning towards the more precise side of things; however, the closure system on the lower shell wraps the foot evenly to avoid buckles digging into the top of your foot even when those buckles are cranked down. The liner is heat moldable which will help to take out any small pressure points you may in the boot with very minimal work. This is one of the better-fitting alpine touring boots on the market. If you have an average foot shape but want a more powerful and slightly more precise fit, check out the stiffer flexing Nordica Unlimited 130.
