Elan Ace SC11+ Skis w/ Fusion X EMX 12 GW Bindings 2027
The ACE SC11+ is one of those skis that immediately reminds you how much fun carving can be.
Not "making turns."
Carving.
The kind of skiing where you tip the ski over, trust the edge, and let the sidecut do the work.
Elan built the ACE SC11+ for skiers who genuinely enjoy the craft of carving and want a ski that rewards good technique with serious performance. It's not a race ski, but it definitely shares some race DNA. It's also not an all-mountain ski pretending to be a carving ski.
This thing knows exactly what it is.
The easiest way to think about the ACE SC11+ is that it lives in the same conversation as the Stockli Montero AS, Nordica Multigara, and Atomic Redster Q9. It blends race-inspired construction with just enough forgiveness to make it enjoyable for real-world skiing.
Where the ACE SC11+ separates itself is in the shape.
Compared to skis like the Montero AS or Multigara, it features a tighter turn radius that naturally encourages shorter, more energetic turns. The ski feels eager to get across the hill, pull you into the next arc, and keep building energy throughout the entire turn.
If you enjoy making a lot of turns, you'll love this ski.
Underneath the hood is one of the most interesting constructions in skiing.
The ACE SC11+ debuts Elan's Active Suspension Technology, a recently patented design that rethinks how metal is used inside a ski. Rather than using a traditional continuous sheet of titanal, Elan divides the upper metal laminate into three overlapping sections located in the tip, underfoot, and tail. These sections overlap and are bonded together using elastomer connections, effectively creating a suspension system built directly into the ski.
The result is surprisingly noticeable.
You get all the grip, stability, and power you'd expect from a dual-metal laminate carving ski, but with a smoother and more controlled ride quality. The ski absorbs vibrations exceptionally well, remains calm when conditions become firm or chattery, and builds energy throughout the turn in a way that feels incredibly satisfying.
To put it simply:
You get the benefits of a race ski without all of the punishment.
That's important because the ACE SC11+ is still a serious ski.
There's very little rocker. Virtually no taper. Plenty of torsional stiffness. The ski wants to be on edge and rewards skiers who are willing to drive it. At the same time, the mid-70 mm waist width provides a larger platform than a true slalom ski, making it more forgiving and easier to access than something pulled directly from a race room.
Compared to a traditional 66-68 mm race ski, the ACE SC11+ feels substantially more approachable while still delivering the precision and edge hold advanced skiers crave.
And when the snow is good?
It's addictive.
The ski grips incredibly hard, feels planted underfoot, and generates tremendous rebound from one turn to the next. Every arc flows naturally into the next one, creating that sensation where you find yourself looking uphill wondering why the run ended so quickly.
The tradeoff is obvious.
This is not an all-mountain ski.
Elan already builds the Wingman for skiers looking to blend carving and all-mountain versatility. The ACE SC11+ is purpose-built for groomers and hard snow. It can survive the occasional venture into mixed conditions, but that's not why you buy it.
You buy it because carving is your favorite part of skiing.
