Fresh Corduroy's Worst Enemy.

The Blizzard Anomaly 84 proves that frontside-focused skis don't have to be one-dimensional.

Replacing the legendary Brahma series was never going to be an easy assignment, but Blizzard absolutely nailed the Anomaly collection. The Anomaly 84 has quickly become one of our favorite options for skiers who spend most of their day chasing fresh corduroy but still want a ski that's comfortable venturing beyond perfect groomers.

At 84 mm underfoot, this is the quickest and most precise ski in the Anomaly family. It transitions edge to edge effortlessly, grips hard snow exceptionally well, and delivers a confidence-inspiring feel when tipped over into a carve. If your favorite part of skiing is laying trenches on a freshly groomed trail before everyone else gets there, the Anomaly 84 belongs on your shortlist.

What we love most about this ski is how accessible it feels. A lot of skis with this level of grip and precision demand constant attention from the skier. The Anomaly 84 doesn't. Turn initiation is smooth and intuitive, balance comes naturally, and the ski never feels like it's trying to overpower you. It simply does what you ask it to do.

Medium-radius turns are where the ski truly shines, but it has enough versatility to make shorter turns when needed and enough stability to open things up when conditions allow. It feels planted and predictable without becoming heavy or sluggish.

Compared to a dedicated carving ski, the Anomaly 84 offers noticeably more versatility. The wider platform and modern rocker profile make it more comfortable in softer snow, spring conditions, and occasional off-trail adventures. Compared to the wider Anomaly 88 or 94, however, the 84 is clearly more focused on groomer performance and edge grip.

The result is a ski that hits a sweet spot many skiers are searching for. It has the precision and confidence of a frontside ski without the limitations that often come with that category.

For skiers who value grip, stability, and carving performance but still want one ski to handle most resort days, the Anomaly 84 is one of the best options available.
