The Burton Swath BOA is the middle flex option from Burton's stacked boot lineup. If you're new to snowboarding or just prefer a more forgiving flex, this is gonna be one of the best options. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the stiffest, this is right in the middle at 5. This provides a supportive but undemanding feel. The Swath is best suited for beginners, intermediates, or freestyle-minded riders. What sets the boot apart from a lot of other boots in this category is on top of a forgiving feel, it has a very precise fit. Sometimes boots on the softer end of the spectrum can feel a little sloppy, specifically in the heel. The Swath's Double Boa system allows for a consistent, locked-in feel throughout the boot, and that second Boa gives you full control of how much the boot is grabbing your heel. The boot shares the same Imprint 3 liner with the Burton Photon, which is the next step up (based on stiffness) in the Burton line-up. The Burton Swath BOA is geared toward anyone looking for a mellow flexing boot that doesn't skimp on quality.
Bootfitter's notes:
The Burton Swath runs true to size and is best suited for a narrow to medium-width foot. It's not off-limits to a wide foot, but if your foot's wider just know it's gonna feel a little more snug out of the box and the break-in process will be longer. The liner does have give so there's room for expansion in response to whatever your foot shape is. The more narrow your foot is, the more comfortable the Swath will feel out of the box, but the Imprint liner gives it a lot of flexibility to adjust to a wide variety of foot shapes. In terms of fit, once the boot is broken in, the Swath and any Burton Double Boa boots provide elite heel hold and a consistent fit throughout.
