Snowboard Fail: Near Death to Perfect Stomp

I was trolling youtube this morning and came across this serious close call. An urban snowboarder goes from having a broken neck to stomping a front flip. This kid catches his board on the lip of the jump, and looks like he is about to tumble to a serous injury...

Instead, he ends up landing a sick looking front flip. Was it planned? or Was it a true near death experience?... You be the judge.
