2013 Line Influence 115 Ski Review

Line Influence 115 Skis 2013

The 2013 Line Influence 115 skis have been completely overhauled. Even though the 11/12 version may look similar in appearance to the 12/13, don't be fooled they are entirely different. Line Skis may have kept the model name, but everything else has been reworked to make the Influence 115 lighter in weight, more playful and appeal to a broader range of skiers.

The new dimensions are 145-115-131, which are drastically different than the 11/12 dimensions of 153-115-142. Line's CapWall construction has been used instead of traditional sandwich sidewall, and Line's die-cut Metal Matrix, which usually protrudes above the ski is now burrowed into the ski's core. With tip rocker carrying over from 11/12, tail rocker is added to really give the new Influence 115 it's surfy off-trail feel.

Line changed the 2013 Influence 115's construction to make the ski more appealing to a wider variety of skiers. All of the new changes make the Influence 115 a much more versatile set of skis. By trimming down the dimensions (except for waist width), building the ski with CapWall and using thinner titanal, Line has created an extremely lightweight energetic all-mountain rip-stick.

On hard pack snow, the Influence 115 feels solid at high speeds and transitions edges very nicely. It doesn't feel as planky as its predecessor. The 11/12 version was a little slower getting up on edge, and felt heavier as the groomed snow conditions got choppy towards the end of the day. When the snow is deeper and terrain gnarlyer, the Influence 115's tip and tail rocker bring the 2013 edition to another level. The tip/tail rocker combined with the skis light weight gives the skier confidence when shooting through steep trees or sketchy chutes. The tail rocker makes the Influence 115 feel extremely smooth. It's surfy through pow and much more nimble in tight situations than the 11/12 version.

I throughly enjoyed skiing Line's new Influence 115. Skiers who are seeking a more versatile powder ski will be stoked with the improvements Line has made. The new ski appeals to a larger audience of skiers that can enjoy this ski without feeling like they are working to hard. The new Influence 115 skis shorter than it's printed centimeter size. If your a strong skier, I recommend sizing up because mobility and stability will not be an issue.

2013 Line Influence 115 Ski Review aka The Bottom Line: Brand new ski that is much more versatile than its previous version. Line's new design changes give the ski lightweight, agility and a solid feeling at higher speeds.
