The Scott Ultimate DRX Pants are almost certainly an upgrade from what you've got now, so it's probably time to make the switch. Dermizax fabric isn't Gore-Tex, but it's similar in that it's going to be very waterpoof, and one of the most durable and rugged fabrics out there. Skiing through tight trees and branches, and worried about about something getting cought and ripping your pants? It's possible with some lighter cheaper materials, but these will stand up to the most hazardous conditions. Add in some serious insulation and just a few days in these will show you a pretty huge diffference between these and something ~$100 cheaper. They're more waterproof, much warmer, and much much more durable.
