Construction

Full Sandwich ABS Sidewall - A full tip-to-tail ABS sidewall construction provides increased strength and much better ski-to-snow contact.

Power Transfer Platform - These are elastomer pads that are layered into the skis construction. These pads help increase the skis edge-to-edge power transfer, as well as giving the skis a more progressive flex

Core

Inverted 3D Woodcore - This full wood core is internally milled-out to save weight without sacrificing torsional strength. The result is you get a ski that easily floats in soft snow and is torsional strong on groomed conditions.

CFX Superfiber - A unique fiber that consists of Carbon and Flax woven together. Salomon takes this fiber and runs it the entire length of the ski for incredible stability and vibration absorption, without adding any unnecessary weight.

Shape

All Terrain Rocker 2.0 - Tip and tail rocker with camber underfoot. A small amount of rocker in the tip and tail adds a easy turning feel, and the cambered zone ensure edge grip and stability on hardback snow.

Semi Twin Tail - Salomon gives the QST 99 a slightly kicked-up tail. This increases forgiveness allowing for easier maneuvering through bumps, trees and all other unfavorable conditions.

Hook Free Taper - 5 Point Sidecut - This particular shape helps reduce a hooky feel in soft snow. It also reduces the overall weight making the skis more maneuverable.

Additional Awesomeness

Koroyd Tip and Tail - This honeycomb/Koroyd technology decreases the ski’s weight at the extremities. This allows for superior floatation and super easy maneuverability.

Total Edge Reinforcement - Salomon places a layer of Fiber directly on top of the skis edges. This helps to increase shock absorption for a smooth feeling ride.

Pulse Pad - Salomon places a layer of rubber along the ski’s edges. This helps dampen the ski for a super smooth ride!

Binding
