It’s here, this is it – the Roxa R3 Ti is the lightest alpine ski boot on the market.  The uphill friendly light-weight cabrio shell doesn’t give up any downhill performance.  The team that was behind the Krypton developed the R3 Ti, Glen Plake included.  For being a Grilamid shell the R3 is really pretty stiff for a 130 – one of the stiffer 130 flex boots honestly.  As far as fit goes, it’s roomy toe box doesn’t crush your toes when it’s time to boot pack up the ridge.  The hike mode provides ample range of motion especially when the power strap is loosened, but not quite as much as a full on alpine touring/alpine hike boot like a Cochise 130.  For those skiers that love the Krypton and are looking for the next thing – it’s the Roxa R3.

This falls into a category that is comparable to the Salomon S/Lab…. It’s not comparable as far as downhill performance goes – the R3  is the winner hands down – they can drive any ski on the wall, the S/Lab cannot.
