Outdoor Research took the game to the next level this year with their heated Capstone Gloves. While most gloves or mittens are simply a defender from the cold, these are actually heated to keep you nice and toasty. Both gloves have the capability to store two ALTIHeat rechargeable batteries that spread heat evenly throughout your hand and fingers. The batteries are sold separately, but you can pick ‘em up right here to get on your way to full power warmth. Even without the heating system turned on, however, the Capstones feature two different industry-leading synthetic insulators in Primaloft Silver and EnduraLoft at 200g. GORE-TEX inserts are found in the fabric, so you know you’re getting the most waterproof and windproof option out there. All around, be prepared to slay every part of the mountain with these gloves that are truly meant for all-around excellence. 

Material

The upper section of the gloves is made with a special, stretchable nylon that is reinforced with GORE-TEX. The palm consist of Outdoor Research’s classic water-resistant cozy goat leather. 

Insulation

Obviously where these gloves really make a name for themselves in with their warmth. In addition to the rechargeable battery powered heating system, the Capstones feature both Primaloft and EnduraLoft synthetic insulators. 

Waterproofness/Breathability

GORE-TEX - You’re probably familiar with GORE-TEX from your jacket and pants, but these are gloves that come reinforced with a GORE-TEX membrane, making sure that every inch of your body is covered with top-of-the-line wind and waterproofing.
