For ski pants, just as important as being waterproof is being breathable; which is something that’s often overlooked. Despite it being a winter sport, it’s pretty easy to overheat out on the mountain just by the active nature of the sport. With the Andalo Pants from Mammut, breathability is prioritized which results in a really sweet pair of ski pants that won’t break the bank. Most sub-$200 ski pants will be fully baseline waterproof/breathable without too many other features. These though, are fully waterproof, but have the breathability that you would typically find in a $300 pant, plus warm synthetic insulation and reinforced cuffs for crampon use. Durable, lightweight, and breathable, these are the pants to go with if you’re looking to save a few bucks but still want high-end construction.
