The new Mindbender 99 Ti W is a wider waisted, East Coast capable ski built for arcing turns on hardpack. Don't be fooled by the 99mm waist width, this is a powerful ski that can keep up on groomers with any narrower ski, it just floats and pivots more easily in variable snow. Compared to previous Mindbenders the 22/23 99 Ti W is drastically better. Previous models were quite demanding and took an expert skier, and a lot of energy to get them where you wanted them. K2 has done a nice job maintaining a high level of performance but in a ski that is easier at low speeds and more energetic in and out of turns. Over firm terrain they feel smooth, powerful and the speed limit is nearly endless. In softer snow or tight terrain these float well and provide enough energy to make the skiing more exciting. While the older Mindbenders might have scared off less experienced skiers, the 22/23 ski is great for a larger range of abilities.
