The 2016 K2 Luv Struck 80’s blur the line between classic and contemporary ski construction in order to supply the capable, casual female skier with a dependable pair of planks that are both sturdy on edge and easy to turn. A full wood core gives the Luv Struck’s the strength required to tackle unexpected sections of hard snow and ice without making them heavy. K2’s Bioflex technology results in a high strength-to-weight ratio, which is achieved by the use of Bamboo and Paulownia woods at the center of the core. Aspen along the edge gives the Luv Struck’s a stable feel in unfriendly terrain. All-Terrain Rocker in the tip is certainly floaty in crud, mash and pow, but more importantly, enables turn initiation at a much lower edge angle.

Construction

Hybritech Sidewall Construction - An optimal pairing of durable sidewall construction under foot with cap in the tip and tail, Hybritech provides edge grip and durability while maintaining a knife’s edge silhouette for ultra efficient navigation of the bumped up trails and crud.

Core

Bioflex - Three different types of wood equip the Luv Struck 80’s for whatever the mountain throws at you. At core center, ultralight Paulownia keeps the ski maneuverable in heavy snow and bumps. Along the edge, the BeLuved’s are prepared to take on ice and extreme hard pack, by rigid, high density  Aspen. A bamboo stringer from tip to tail reduces chatter in order to yield highly consistent edge hold.

Channel Light Core - By cutting grooves into the core of the ski, K2 creates a flex pattern that is impressively smooth. Link turns in rapid succession without being bucked into the backseat by an excessively rigid tail.

Shape

All-Terrain Rocker - Early rise in the tip of the ski promotes turn initiation and keeps you up on top of crud, spring mash, and of course pow.

Tapered Tip - Without conceding effective edge length, early taper in the tip reduces drag in fresh stuff and maximizes your punch-through power in variable snow, ice, and crud.

Thinner Profile - Reducing the thickness of the ski permits it to more easily slice though heavy granular snow or bumps. Less Work = More Fun

Binding

Marker ERC 11 TC - This system binding is integrated directly into the K2 Luv Struck 80’s. These bindings are designed to minimize fatigue by providing a leverage advantage. They have a din range of 3-10.
