The K2 Excavator has been a go-to this season across a wide range of conditions. It's not your typical shape and may not look like what you're used to riding but this is a seriously good snowboard. The shorter-fatter shape makes the Excavator incredibly nimble when you get it in tighter trees and bumps, perfect when the snow fills in and getting off trail is your mission. On a groomer the camber shape, medium-stiff flex, and additional carbon fiber strengthening in the tail lets you grip into a carve and really push the board hard. It feels plenty comfortable at speed and powerful moving from one turn into the next. And of course, as you can imagine the Excavator is a rockstar on a pow day. The nose floats easily and that nimble shape makes slashing turns a blast.
