K2 AlLUVit 88 Skis 2018 // Women's

SKI ALL OF IT.

Test Locations: Big Sky MT, Loon NH

This is the women's version of the Pinnacle 88, same shape sidecut and rocker profile but with K2's Bioflex women's specific core.  AlLUVit really does describe what the ski is capable and willing to handle, it'll give you a little more float than the Black Pearl and it's little easier to manage than the Kenja.  Similar to the Pinnacle series the 88 waist is the most on-trail or groomer friendly ski with Fir core, opposed to the Aspen-Paulownia core in it's bigger sisters.  Less rocker than the FulLUVit 95 makes the ski more stable on harder snow and more fun for women that want a ski that can really carve.  This is the next women's ski that everyone will be talking about, get familiar.

Pros: Lively, Snappy and fun.

Cons: Not as much float as other 88mm waisted skis.

Bottom Line: If you spend a good chunk of your time ripping groomers or cruising you're going to like the way the AlLUVit 88 skis.

Construction

Triaxial Braid - A 3 direction fiberglass weave protects the wood core of the Alluvit 88, and gives them an energetic feel on hard packed snow.

Hybritech Sidewall - An ideal pairing of durable sidewall construction under foot with cap in the tip and tail, Hybritech provides edge grip and durability while maintaining a knife’s edge silhouette for ultra efficient navigation of the steep and deep.

Metal Laminate - Speed and variable terrain cause skis to twist out of the turn. Torsional stiffness provided by the AlLUVit's full metal laminate keeps the ski locked in through the apex.

Core

K2 Konic Technology - By distributing the meat of the wood core material along the edges of the skis, K2 gives the Alluvit 88’s a solid, powerful feel on edge. Nanolite, an aerospace quality composite material, occupies the core center of the Pinnacles, keeping them awesomely light under foot.

Nanolite - This aerospace grade composite affords The AlLUVit 88’s big mountain ability at bunny slope weight.

Shape

All Terrain Rocker - Long early rise in the tip and tail of the ski promotes turn initiation and keeps you up on top of crud, spring mash, and of course pow. Tail rocker takes some of the bang out of landings.

Tapered Tip - Without conceding effective edge length, early taper in the tip adds slash-ability in fresh stuff and punch through power in variable snow, ice, and crud.

Additional Awesomeness

Moderate Camber under foot gives the AlLUVit 88’s an energetic, spring loaded feel in variable terrain.

Binding

The K2 AlLUVit 88 does not come with a binding. We recommend you use a binding that will accommodate your skiing needs (backcountry, touring, all-mountain etc.).  We recommend a brake width of 90mm for the AlLUVit 88.

Recommended Binding: Marker Griffon with 90mm brake or an easier to step into Marker Squire with a 90mm brake.

Crikey!!! Looks like we’re sold out.
