Fortunate enough to ski the Pioneer 109 with a few of the guys and gals that make it happen at Icelantic in Big Sky Montana.  Just after lunch (which was huge, followed by a triple espresso) met up with Ben, Scotty and Annelise and we shredded Challenger, over and over – the snow was chalky perfection.  The nimble AF 109 mm waist didn’t slow us down at all when the snow was sparce and the turns were quick, ample grip and a well balanced ski make the Pioneer 109 super fun.  If you’ve been to Big Sky before you are aware there is plenty of time between zones tor put the pedal to the metal on groomers, the Pioneer’s didn’t disappoint, it’s hard to believe there isn’t metal in the ski when laying em over. If you were using this as your everyday on the East and expecting killer grip – that’s wishful thinking on the brutal hardpack days, but they still do pretty good.  For having a decent amount of camber behind the foot it was awesome how easily they swiveled around.

This ski is 100% approved by everyone here – Icelantic killed it.  I also own one – the person writing this review. – G
